Internet Skills-Based Program for Child Anxiety
UCLA, participants need not be in Los Angeles

Description of Study: A free child anxiety study is being conducted by Melody Keller, MA, and Michelle Craske, PhD, at the University of California, Los Angeles. The purpose of this study is to determine whether anxious children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old and their mothers can benefit from a cognitive-behavioral skills-based program delivered over the Internet. Eligible mothers and children are randomly assigned to one of two 12-week conditions: an Internet program condition or a waitlist condition. People placed in the waitlist condition will be given access to the internet program at the end of the study. People from across the United States are welcome to join this study. You do NOT need to come into the research lab. Everything will be conducted online or over the telephone. If you are interested in this study, please call (310) 206-1128.

Eligibility Criteria:
- The child must be between the ages of 6 and 12 years old
- The mother and her child must speak English fluently.
- The mother and her child must be able to read in English.
- If the mother and/or the child are on medication, the dose(s) must be stable.

Exclusion Criteria:
- A child cannot be in this study if he or she has ever been diagnosed with mental retardation, autism, Asperger's disorder, or pervasive developmental disorder (PDD).
- The mother and her child cannot be in this study if either is currently receiving cognitive-behavioral therapy for any mental health problem.
- The mother cannot be taking parenting classes or receiving therapy aimed at addressing parenting skills.
