New Ways to Treat Panic Disorder Study

Description of Study: The Anxiety Disorders Center at Hartford Hospital/Institute of Living is conducting research on new ways to treat panic disorder. Participants in these ongoing studies will receive free cognitive-behavioral therapy, one of the most effective treatments for panic disorder, plus a study medication or a placebo (sugar pill). This study is examining whether a medication may be able to increase the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy by enhancing learning during therapy sessions.
Eligibility Criteria: The studies are open to adults aged 18-65 who have panic disorder.
