Virtual Reality Treatment for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans

Description of Study: Trouble sleeping? Irritable or angry? Can't concentrate? Trouble relating to family or friends?

The Anxiety Disorders Center at Hartford Hospital/ Institute of Living is recruiting individuals who served in Operation Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom and who are currently experiencing stress related to their military service. We are studying if twice-weekly exposure to a virtual reality program can help veterans with sleep problems, nightmares, irritability, poor concentration, and life satisfaction. Interested individuals will be evaluated at the screening visit to determine eligibility. The study is expected to last 6 weeks and will be followed by 3 month follow-up assessment.

This treatment is confidential and does not appear on military health or mental health records.

Eligibility Criteria:
Male veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
