Escitalopram Treatment of Major Depression and Comorbid Social Anxiety Disorder

Description of Study: The purpose of this research study is to test the effectiveness of escitalopram, a medication approved for the treatment of major depression, in persons with both social anxiety disorder and depression. Study participants will receive three months of escitalopram treatment at no charge. There is no placebo (sugar pill) involved in this study.

Eligibility Criteria:
Men and women age 18-65 with current generalized social anxiety disorder and major depression. Participants must not be taking effective medication for their condition, and must be in good physical health
