TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational program has been designed to meet the needs of psychiatrists, psychologists, behavioral health specialists, primary care physicians, OB/GYNs, nurses, social workers, certified counselors, and other health care professionals who treat patients with anxiety disorders or who have a clinical interest.
STATEMENT OF NEED
There is an educational need for academic knowledge and understanding of the interplay of sleep disorders, particularly insomnia, with anxiety disorders, compared to the actual clinical application of the knowledge by psychiatrists, psychologists, behavioral health specialists, primary care physicians, OB/GYNs, nurses, social workers, certified counselors, and other health care professionals. This educational activity will provide foundational education as to the manifestation and interplay between psychiatric conditions specific to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and insomnia. It will also provide clinical "pearls" to treat and manage patients, which when applied in the clinical setting will result in improved patient outcomes.
FEE INFORMATION
There is no fee for this educational activity. Individuals who attended the live symposium on March 6, 2008, and claimed credit are ineligible to receive credit for the online version of this program.
CME ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Tulane University Health Sciences Center and ADAA. Tulane University Health Sciences Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
CME CREDIT DESIGNATION
Tulane University Health Sciences Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6 AMA Category 1 Credits(tm) for the Physician's Recognition Award. Each of the modules or chapters may be completed separately, with each chapter eligible for 1 AMA Category 1 Credits(tm) for the Physician's Recognition Award. The learner is not required to complete all 6 chapters, nor is one chapter a prerequisite for the other. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. ADDITIONAL CE/CME CREDIT INFORMATION
Psychologists: ADAA is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education credits for psychologists. ADAA maintains responsibility for this program and its content. CE credits for psychologists are granted on a 1 credit per contract basis.
Social Workers: The National Association of Social Workers has approved ADAA to offer continuing education credits for social workers.
