Thank you for your interest in joining ADAA. ADAA has several membership categories based on career level. Please select the appropriate category to learn more about the benefits, dues information, and how to apply or renew online.
Professional - $249/annually
Licensed to provide clinical services or who conduct research in anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, and depression.
Trainee/Postdoctoral Fellow/Resident - $115/annually
Actively involved in postgraduate research or clinical training in any discipline relevant to ADAA's mission.
Student - $65/annually
Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate, research assistant, or graduate student in a related field (medicine, psychology, social work, public health, neuroscience, nursing, counseling, etc.).
International Members from Developing Countries - $45/annually

Colleague Membership - $199/annually
Colleagues work in mental health or other health fields as administrators and support staff, as well as educators, employees of nonprofit organizations, or non-psychiatric primary care physicians. Clinicians and other mental health providers, professors, and researchers are not eligible for this membership category. Colleague membership is not available online. Please email [email protected] to join as a colleague.
Emeritus Membership - $125/annually
Current ADAA members who are fully retired.
- Emeritus Members retain full professional member benefits excluding being listed on Find-A-Therapist.
- Emeritus Members cannot hold office. To hold office, emeritus members must convert to full professional membership status.

To make ADAA resources an affordable investment for organizations and clinical practices focused on the treatment or research of anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Depression, and co-occurring disorders ADAA offers a group membership category.

All individual memberships allow for auto-renew - adding auto-renew allows you to set and forget your membership renewals! If you select auto-renew you will receive an email from ADAA notifying you of upcoming renewal charges approximately one week prior to the charge being processed.
Note: ADAA membership follows a calendar-year renewal schedule. All new memberships will be prorated to cover the time between the date of joining and December 31 of the current year. All membership renewals are processed in January of the current year.

Cancellations and Requests for Refunds
ADAA membership requires payment of annual membership dues. New memberships may be cancelled for a refund up to 14 days from the date of dues payment. An administrative fee of $25 will be applied. ADAA will not provide refunds beyond this date. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] Refund requests made by telephone will not be accepted.
ADAA reserves the right to terminate any membership application or dues payment should the applicant be determined to be ineligible for ADAA membership. In these rate instances, a full refund will be provided. Eligibility criteria for professional memberships can be found here. Student members must download a screenshot of their current academic schedule or submit a letter from their institution verifying their full-time student or clinical or research assistant status. Failure to provide this documentation may result in membership cancellation.
