Dominique La Barrie, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Virginia Tech. Her research examines how cultural processes, particularly ethnic-racial socialization, buffer the effects of discrimination and trauma in Black and Latinx families. She also explores how non-parental agents of socialization contribute to youth well-being. As an Afro-Latina scholar, she is committed to fostering inclusive academic spaces and mentoring the next generation of scholars.
