In this recorded presentation, Eric Storch, PhD, presents an in-depth educational webinar on the Children’s Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS)—one of the most widely used tools for assessing pediatric OCD severity.

This session provides a clear overview of the CY-BOCS as a 10-item, clinician-rated, semi-structured interview designed for use with children and adolescents ages 6–17.

Dr. Storch discusses how the scale evaluates the severity of obsessive-compulsive symptoms over the past week, with specific attention to the core domains assessed for both obsessions and compulsions: time occupied, distress, interference, resistance, and degree of control.

Designed for mental health professionals, this webinar strengthens participants’ understanding of how the CY-BOCS is administered, scored, and interpreted, and how it can be effectively integrated into clinical assessment, treatment planning, and outcome monitoring for pediatric OCD.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe core components of the CYBOCS.
  • Understand symptoms of OCD included on the CYBOCS and how to administer the measure with fidelity.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the severity scale items and their administration.
