Visual Voices: Breaking the Stigma Through Art

by Jude-Gabriel Eveillard

My name is Jude-Gabriel Eveillard, and I’m a senior currently pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design at Florida International University. I’m building a creative career rooted in visual storytelling and purposeful design, with a focus on connecting with diverse audiences and sparking meaningful conversations through my work.

With over six years of experience in graphic design, I’ve developed a strong foundation in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. These tools allow me to thoughtfully blend digital art, typography, and layout to create engaging, emotionally resonant visuals. Raised in a Haitian household in Miami, Florida, I speak English, French, and some Haitian Creole. My cultural background, along with my passion for identity, has deeply influenced my perspective as a designer and fueled my commitment to creating work that informs, inspires, and empowers.

For my Design is Change class, I collaborated with ADAA. This collaboration held personal significance for me. As someone who has experienced anxiety and, at one point, depression, I know how difficult it can be to seek help, especially in communities where mental health is still stigmatized. When I was younger, I often wished I had the support or courage to speak up and get the help I needed.

This project gave me an opportunity to use my voice and my skills as a designer to support others who may be going through similar experiences. I created a series of posters for ADAA featuring metaphorical typography and impactful illustrations. The goal was to raise awareness, encourage open dialogue, and help break the stigma surrounding mental health. Through this work, I hope to inspire others to seek help, show compassion, and understand that they’re not alone.
