What is Exposure Therapy?   ADAA Member Taylor Wilmer, PhD shares an introduction on exposure therapy as a treatment option for your mental health journey and discusses what exposure therapy's goals and core principals are, when it is generally used to treat, and what to expect if seeking treatment.

 

 

Taylor Wilmer, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related disorders. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychological & Brain Sciences from Dartmouth College and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Temple University. Dr. Wilmer completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital, where she provided intensive exposure-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children and adolescents with anxiety. Dr. Wilmer currently works as the Director of Group Therapy at InStride Health, with a focus on intensive telehealth-delivered CBT for children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety and OCD. She is licensed in Virginia, Maryland, DC, and Massachusetts, and she is authorized to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology by the PSYPACT Commission.
