Dr. Brooks is the founder of the Anxiety and Behavioral Health Center (est. 2020), an outpatient mental health clinic in Ijamsville, MD. She and her team provide specialized treatment for anxiety and related disorders across the lifespan.
Throughout her career and her work at the Children's National Medical Center, the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Brooks has gained extensive knowledge and experience helping children and their parents address a wide range of childhood mental health conditions. She is most passionate about and specializes in providing evidence-based treatments for anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. These treatments include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Parent Management Training (PMT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr. Brooks is a member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), the International Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF), and the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA). She is dedicated to maintaining knowledge about state-of-the-art treatments for anxiety, OCD, and related disorders and provides training to other professionals. She is committed to community involvement to raise awareness about anxiety disorders and OCD in children and adolescents and reduce suffering from these often-debilitating disorders.
