Grace Berman, LCSW, is a clinical social worker specializing in the treatment and evaluation of children, adolescents and adults with mood and anxiety disorders. She also has expertise in treating ADHD and other behavior disorders and has a particular interest in the intersection of anxiety and behavior disorders. In addition to providing treatment, she also provides training and consultation to caregivers and educators on children’s mental health.
Grace received her BA in Psychology from Northwestern University and her MS in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, where she is now an Adjunct Professor of Social Work. She completed the Yale Child Study Center Advanced Clinical Social Work Fellowship where she trained intensively in trauma intervention. She then joined Yale’s Outpatient Psychiatric Center for Children as a faculty clinician. For the past five years, Grace has been a clinician at the Child Mind Institute where she split her time between the Anxiety Disorders Center and School and Community Programs. She co-founded and directed the DBT in Schools program, provided clinical supervision, and delivered a range of clinical treatments in the Anxiety Disorders Center. She is now at the Ross Center in NY, where she will provide services to both children and adults.
Grace has extensive experience delivering evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Parent Management Training, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (for behavior disorders and for Selective-Mutism), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). She serves on the public education committee of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).
