Leland Fleming, PhD, is a postdoctoral research fellow in Dr. Kerry Ressler at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. His current work examines the long-lasting impact of childhood trauma on brain structure and function. He earned his BS in Neuroscience from Baylor before going on to earn his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a postdoctoral fellow, he combines brain imaging, genetics, and behavioral approaches to study how the brain changes in the aftermath of childhood trauma, as well as how the effects of trauma are passed between generations.
