The Stigma Surrounding AAPI Mental Health

Overall, the state of mental health in the AAPI community is dire. There is still much that needs to be improved, both in terms of how we approach and how we care for those with mental illness in our Asian American/Pacific Islander communities.

Lilianne Gloe, M.A. (she/her) is a graduate student in the Michigan State University Clinical Science doctoral program and will complete her pre-doctoral internship at Indiana University School of Medicine in the 2022-2023 year.

The use of cannabis in the U.S. has undergone a dramatic change over the past two decades.  Starting with the campaign to legalize the use of cannabis in the 90s, use, attitudes and risk perception have changed in both adolescent and adult population.  In this presentation, four recent research publications will be reviewed that highlight a more cautious approach towards cannabis.
