A Widow's Perspective as a Suicide Loss Survivor

A Widow's Perspective as a Suicide Loss Survivor

by Cassey Dale

*Trigger warning: the following video talks about suicide and the loss of a loved one by suicide. If you or anyone you know is having suicidal thoughts, you can call or text 988, the national suicide prevention lifeline.*

I made this video for others to see a different perspective of how suicide can impact a family. A widow's perspective. I want to share my story in hopes that it will give someone the feeling of validation and understanding. Most of all, the feeling that they are not alone. Keep fighting your fight!

Being a suicide loss survivor, other mental health problems have come into play like depression and anxiety. It has helped me to train my mind to think positively to get me through my grief journey.

I have created this video to tell my story because it provides a raw picture of what suicide can do to the family left behind. And it's mentally exhausting having to relive that tragic night over and over as I tell my story over and over.
