Are You Getting the Most of ADAA’s Resources for Your Clients?
At ADAA, we love to offer helpful and reliable resources. And that’s what we do. Part of our mission is to provide evidence-based, scientific, and educational mental health resources to improve the quality of life for those who suffer from anxiety, depression and related disorders. Our website contains extensive resources for and from both professionals and the public and for that, we thank our incredible network of members, partners, allies, and those who contribute their personal stories.
I’ve heard member clinicians say how useful our resources are and that they do refer their clients to our website and other materials. But a little reminder is always helpful…
Clinicians have told us that they really like the personal stories for their clients because they get enough information on their disorder but seeing and reading about others who have what they have makes them feel more connected and hopeful. They also recommend the Triumph newsletter to their clients so they can benefit from information and stories all in one place on a monthly basis.
One clinician who works with children told ADAA that she often directs families and parents to our website for resources. It can be hard to navigate the enormous amount of mental health information on the Internet today and then know what is reputable, trustworthy and grounded in science. She feels ADAA, particularly for conditions like childhood depression and selective mutism, has useful, accessible and practical resources that are “collected and curated better than some of the major resources online.”
Other ADAA resources for your clients/patients include:
- Peer to peer online support community (English and Spanish)
- Webinars for the public
- Blogs for the public
- Find a Therapist – new and improved tool coming soon
- Personal stories
- Self-help books and publications by our members
- Media articles and press coverage of our members in the news
- Brochures, newsletters, infographics, videos and more
With that in mind, ADAA member clinicians can continue to take full advantage of our numerous public resources. And we will continue to update and remind you of these important and helpful benefits to you and your clients.
