Eligibility for our postdoctoral position requires a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited graduate program. Our strongest candidates will be able to demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based treatment with experience treating OCD and anxiety disorders. Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders - Boston University - Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Adult Anxiety/Mood/Substance Use Disorders +

The Transdiagnostic Treatment Lab at the Center for Anxiety & Related Disorders (CARD) at Boston University invites applications for post-doctoral fellowship positions in adult clinical psychopathology with a specialization in assessment and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders. Successful candidates will be involved in research and clinical responsibilities for a funded trial evaluating an internet-delivered version of the Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders (UP) designed to enhance regulation of positive emotions, as well as two large NIAAA-supported projects evaluating the efficacy of the UP and psychopharmacological treatment for adults with comorbid anxiety, mood and alcohol use disorders. Post-doctoral fellows will also be involved in the Unified Protocol Institute training initiatives, which include workshops as well as training and supervision of providers learning the UP. Opportunities exist for participation in data analysis/manuscript preparation, grant writing, and collaborative research ongoing at CARD and within the lab. The position will provide postdoctoral clinical hours and supervision necessary for licensure. Upon completion of two postdoctoral fellowship years, promotion to Research Assistant Professor and membership in the faculty of the Clinical Psychology Program at BU may be available. Children's National Hospital - Postdoctoral Fellowship +

Whole Bear Care: Primary Care Behavioral Health Services at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is currently accepting applications for at least 1 postdoctoral fellowship position for 2020-2021. 

Primary Care Behavioral Health Services at Children’s National is an outpatient integrated care program. The Psychology team works closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide behavioral health consultation within the primary care setting. Direct services are provided to children, adolescents and families at community-based primary care clinics in D.C. and Maryland. Consultations for patients include initial assessment, service referrals, and follow-up to help ensure linkage to behavioral health care. Consultation is also provided to the medical care teams. Brief patient intervention work will also be required. Opportunity to supervise psychology trainees is also available. The fellowship is a one-year full-time position, with some flexibility on the start date. 

Clinical hours and supervision for licensure will be provided. Candidates with experience working in a primary care setting and/or with a multi-disciplinary team, clinical experience working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, and bilingual (English-Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply. Children’s National Hospital Anxiety Postdoctoral Fellowship +

The Anxiety postdoctoral fellowship provides advanced clinical training in child psychology with an emphasis on anxiety.  Clinical work primarily involves diagnostic evaluations and interventions for a wide range of anxiety presentations such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, selective mutism, specific phobia, panic disorder, medically-related anxiety and PTSD.  CBT is the main modality with use of other empirically-supported treatments as needed.  Our multidisciplinary clinic offers outpatient services (individual and group treatments) to a diverse population in the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia area.  The fellow will be able to participate in team meetings, collaborate with our psychiatry counterparts and potentially gain supervision experience with psychology externs.  The Anxiety fellow will also have opportunities to gain clinical and/or research exposure in other areas of general child clinical or pediatric psychology, if interested.  Didactics are an important component of the fellowship program and will focus on topics related to anxiety, general clinical child psychology and professional development.

The Anxiety Disorders Center is one of four programs that comprise the rapidly expanding Clinical Program of the Child Mind Institute. The Center offers cutting edge, unique treatment services for children and adolescents suffering from anxiety disorders. These include the Intensive Pediatric OCD program, which has successfully treated children and adolescents from across the country and internationally, as well as the Selective Mutism program which has treated hundreds of children from all over the world and offers both weekly and intensive forms of treatment. Responsibilities:  

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and treatment to children and adolescents with anxiety disorders, including clients with comorbid mood-related disorders and externalizing disorders.  
  • Conduct family-based interventions with parents and other family members, and maintain collateral contacts with educators and other providers.
